It was only a couple of months ago that Avengers Endgame smashed its way onto the big screen. And now it’s follow-up Spider-Man Far From Home, set in the aftermath, will hit cinemas on July 2. While exclusive screenings have already occurred, the embargo dates and times for the first reactions and reviews appear to have been revealed. The news comes from Fandango, who own Rotten Tomatoes.
Fandango Editor Erik Davis tweeted: “THIS JUST IN: Mark your calendars as the first reactions to #SpiderManFarFromHome will drop on social next Wednesday, June 19th at 2:00PM PT / 5:00PM ET.
“Be here and be ready!”
This means the first reactions from critics will land on Twitter at 10pm on June 19th.
Meanwhile, a fan asked when the actual reviews for Spider-Man Far From Home will follow.
Davis replied: “As of now, the following week on 6/27.”
While Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man died in Avengers Endgame, it looks like Tony Stark will feature somehow in Spider-Man Far From Home.
There’s certainly a big clue in the main trailer where Peter Parker looks shocked wearing Tony’s glasses.
Fans have speculated there will be a hologram message from his mentor in the movie. WARNING POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.
However, a verified Marvel leaker on Reddit says: “I have heard he is the AI when Peter puts on glasses but cannot confirm.”
Assuming this is true, it sounds like Tony will be Spider-Man’s new AI in his suit, replacing Karen.
This would mean his mentor would be with him always, giving him advice throughout Spider-Man Far From Home.
Spider-Man Far From Home is released in UK cinemas on July 2, 2019.
